Stupid email

What a nice thing to get sent from a relative. All this means to me is that this person is mean, vindictive, and uneducated. Please see this page for a rational explanation of this kind of misguided humor. (If you can't get to this link, cut and paste: http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/atheist.asp)

Great Answer from the Judge

In Florida , an atheist became incensed over the preparation of Easter and Passover holidays. He decided to contact his lawyer about the discrimination inflicted on atheists by the constant celebrations afforded to Christians and Jews with all their holidays while atheists had no holiday to celebrate.

The case was brought before a wise judge. After listening to the long passionate presentation by the lawyer, the Judge banged his gavel and declared 'Case dismissed!'

The lawyer immediately stood and objected to the ruling and said, 'Your honor, how can you possibly dismiss this case? The Christians have Christmas, Easter and many other observances. Jews have Passover, Yom Kippur and Hanukkah... yet my client and all other atheists have no such holiday!'

The judge leaned forward in his chair and simply said, 'Obviously your client is too confused to even know about, much less celebrate his own atheists' holiday!'

The lawyer pompously said, 'Your Honor, we are unaware of any such holiday for atheists. Just when might that holiday be, your Honor?'

The judge said, 'Well it comes every year on exactly the same date - April 1st! Since our calendar sets April 1st as 'April Fools' Day', consider that Psalm 14:1 and Psalm 53 state, 'The fool says in his heart, there is no God.'
Therefore, in my opinion, if your client says there is no God, then by scripture he is a fool, thus April 1st is his holiday!'

PRAY THAT SOME DAY OUR COURTS WILL BE FULL OF THESE KIND OF JUDGES..... MAYBE THEN, WE CAN PUT GOD BACK WHERE HE BELONGS - IN EVERYTHING WE DO...

Way to go, Judge!

That would be enough for me to either trash almost all of this person's e-mails unread or block the sender entirely. Relative or no relative.

(I have a brother teetering on the brink; at the moment, I glance at his e-mails in case they have important family news and delete. I do not answer. No sense encouraging them.)

WTF! Although, what's new? I'm still getting those shitty e-mails too!

My brother does the same as wanderin' weeta. If it isn't directly addressed to him or have anything remotely important it's the delete button!

I only responded to this email because leaving it alone would amount to giving that person's email some credibility, which it had none. The only way to fight this nonsense is thru education or ridicule.

Poor propaganda masquerading as a very poor joke. I don't mind people "taking the piss" about atheists , but they have to do better than this.

My bible beating relatives don't have my email address. I think they know better.

Don't Christians sometimes refer to themselves as "fools in Christ?"

Ah yes, that and my favorite: "slaves for Jesus."
