This is God?

Religion is supposed to be comforting to those who believe. This does not provide comfort but manipulates those who suffer with fear and misery. I found this truly disgusting beyond words.

Also I found it weird that Goldie Frances is not the real name of the person who wrote this article and it was changed for "security reasons." First this God kills people and send them to hell just because they were born in the wrong place and now the writer feels he/she needs to be anonymous because God can't protect him/her.

This is one of many reasons I don't believe. This god makes no sense to me.

The arrogance in this article was sickening beyond belief.

Their prayer: that faith in Christ follows cyclone
By Goldie Frances*

Bangladeshis left homeless by the Nov. 15 cyclone wait for relief goods at the village of Maithachomohoni in the country’s southern coastal area. The official death toll is 3,100 and climbing, and, as one media worker noted, "Untold numbers of survivors were in urgent need of food and water in ... one of the poorest areas of the world.

More.

That is truly sickmaking. Is that god person knows that people are being sent to eternal torture, and does nothing about it, he is a cruel psycho and doesn't deserve to be worshiped. If he knows but can't do anything about it, then he is an impotent god of straw and doesn't deserve to be worshiped. No wonder I think it's all a crock.

This is a tired argument against the existence of God.

He set a world into motion with laws of nature and He explained what was expected of us (for those who care to examine His words or to look at nature and see Him in it). Just as a parent gives a child life, then cares for and trains that child, with expectations for behavior and a hope that they will in return love and be devoted to us; unfortunately no matter how good we are to them sometimes they turn away.

He actually gave us Utopia but we quickly screwed it up. As a result, man set into motion the pre-determined law of justice.

He gave us a great gift: freedom, choice, individuality. Only a truly amazing God would do this and then do everything He could to lead us to faith without forcing us...who wants to be loved by someone who is only around because they had to be and not because they chose to be.

Why Hell? I do not know. Probably has something to do with the betrayal by Lucifer...There are many things unclear in life and beyond. When my children were young, I only told them things they needed to know or could understand. I knew that only as they matured could they deal with the complexities of some subjects.

Sherm, Sherm, Sherm, my dear fundy troll. What you are presenting is the tired old Daddy argument for the impossible existence of god. It's been debated for hundreds of years and for you to bring it up here shows your ignorance and arrogance.

If it makes you feel good to believe in a sky daddy that supposedly looks after you in mysterious, questionable ways then I'm glad for you. It probably keeps you from going out raping and murdering and being a pain in the ass to society. Thank you Jesus!

Believing in ancient Jewish myths doesn't made us moral. It makes us monsters.

Now go away.
